Julie has spent years bringing residents, educators, first responders, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government leaders together to solve difficult problems. Her leadership is grounded in listening, building consensus, and remaining focused on measurable results.
Julie is not a career politician. She is a wife, mother of four, educator, nonprofit founder, community organizer, and problem-solver who has dedicated her life to building stronger communities and safer neighborhoods.
Whether she is supporting students, securing public-safety resources, organizing residents, or advocating at the State Capitol, Julie brings energy, empathy, and effectiveness to everything she does.
A Record of Results
Service Before Politics
Julie’s record of leadership began long before she became a candidate. Her work has strengthened schools, improved public safety, protected neighborhoods, and connected families with important community resources.
An Advocate for Families and Schools
Julie served from 2019 to 2022 on the Deer Valley Unified School District Governing Board, where she prioritized lower class sizes, improved teacher pay, and access to innovative educational programs.
A graduate of Grand Canyon University with a degree in Elementary and Special Education, Julie taught special education in the Paradise Valley Unified School District.
During the 2018 Red for Ed campaign, Julie organized a district-wide food drive that assembled and distributed more than 3,500 meals so students would not go hungry. She has continued supporting schools through holiday food and clothing drives, booster clubs, and ESL classes for parents.
Grassroots Leadership That Drives Change
Julie’s civic advocacy accelerated in 2016 when she helped stop the placement of homeless sex offenders in a North Phoenix reentry center without adequate public notification.
As co-founder of BlockWatch Phoenix North, Julie organized 6,500 residents, worked with state officials, and successfully advocated for three bipartisan laws strengthening public notice, neighborhood notification, and accountability for state reentry centers.
Julie’s respectful and solution-driven approach earned praise from leaders across party lines and produced meaningful protections for North Phoenix families.
Connector, Entrepreneur, and Community Builder
Julie is the co-founder of Parties for Purpose, a nonprofit that provides birthday celebrations for children in need. She also leads the North Phoenix Community Angel Tree Project, helping provide holiday gifts to hundreds of DVUSD students.
Julie has supported Superhero September, fundraisers for fallen officers, local booster clubs, family-assistance programs, and community events throughout North Phoenix.
During the COVID shutdown, she helped organize a drive-through event with PLEA and Chick-fil-A Deer Valley honoring fallen Phoenix Police Commander Greg Carnicle.
Thoughtful Growth and Quality Jobs
Julie has served on the North Gateway Village Planning Committee and the Phoenix Planning Commission, helping guide responsible development and community-centered planning.
She has worked to support quality jobs and economic development through projects such as TSMC while protecting the character, infrastructure, and livability of North Phoenix neighborhoods.
Julie believes growth should strengthen existing communities, respect residents, and ensure city services keep pace with new development.
Fire Station 55
Turning Advocacy Into Action
As the wife of an East Valley firefighter, Julie has a personal understanding of the risks, resources, and support first responders need to protect a growing community.
In 2018, Julie played a leading role in the successful campaign to bring Phoenix Fire Station 55 to the rapidly growing Norterra area. She organized residents, built consensus, and worked alongside city leaders to secure the station and improve emergency response across District 2.
Today, Engine 55 serves the community around the clock. Julie has also partnered with Phoenix Police to address public-safety concerns, including issues along 27th Avenue and Loop 101, and continues to support practical, community-based solutions.
